Cost
My practice is self-pay, which means that I am not contracted with any insurance companies (“out-of-network”). This preserves the integrity of our to work and my autonomy in providing you effective therapy that protects your privacy and personal information.
90-minute initial intake assessment, $275
55-minute individual therapy session, $200
Check to see if your insurance company will pay for your therapy
Many insurance plans offer reimbursement for therapy, but most people aren’t aware of their benefits. I suggest you inquire about your out-of-network coverage because you may be eligible for reimbursement for our sessions.
There are two ways to manage this process:
Option 1:
You can speak to your insurance company before we start working together to determine your out-of-network benefits and reimbursement rate. You will pay the full cost on the day of our session and I will provide you with a document (called a “superbill”) for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Here is some information about initiating that discussion with your insurance company:
-
Your insurance company will need to know the "procedure code" for a standard hour therapy appointment, which is 90837.
-
I am seeking out-of-network services, what are the percentage of the provider's fees that are reimburseable?
Is there a deductible?
How many sessions per year does my plan cover?
What information do I need to submit in order to receive out-of-network services?
What website/email/fax do I send the information to?
Are there any time limitations regarding filing my claims?
Option 2:
If you prefer to have some of the insurance process streamlined, I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process for you. Thrizer automatically submits superbills for you and allows you to only pay a copay for my sessions (once you have hit your deductible). During the intake process I can tell you more about this service, and you read more about it here.
If we decide to work together, I will provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” of the cost of working together. Read more about this here.
