Hi, I’m Britt

I approach therapy with the desire to build genuine relationships with my clients. My style is conversational and expressive—I believe that therapy should feel like a real, meaningful exchange rather than a formal or clinical process. I think and work pragmatically, which means you leave our sessions with practical insights or strategies to reflect on and apply before our next meeting. I value transparency and explain the reasoning behind what we’re doing together. My goal is to deeply listen and understand you while also challenging you to step outside your comfort zone and explore different ways of doing things.

I am committed to creating an inclusive and anti-oppressive therapeutic environment where all clients feel valued, respected, and heard. I recognize the ways in which systems of power—such as racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, and classism—can shape your experiences and identity. I approach each client through an intersectional lens, acknowledging the complexity of your unique experiences, including the various identities you hold and how they intersect. I strive to offer a safe and affirming space where you can express yourself authentically, free from judgment, and where we can work together to challenge harmful patterns and beliefs that arise from societal norms and expectations.

How I think about change

I don’t think in terms of us "fixing" anything, but rather my supporting you in understanding and aligning with what matters to you. We will approach your challenges with curiosity and openness so they no longer overwhelm you, confuse you, or hold you back. You will learn how to be more present, accept what’s outside of your control, and take meaningful action so that you can feel more connected to the people and experiences that matter most.

My background

I am a Seattle-based therapist with 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, build stronger connections, and create meaningful change.

My advanced clinical training is in evidence-based, contemporary contextual behavioral therapies: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Functional Analytic Psychotherapy. These therapies help people change through deep exploration of relational patterns, increasing mindfulness, and taking values-driven action, which help them break unhelpful cycles.

I am a Perinatal Mental Health Clinician (PMH-C) with specialized training to support people in understanding the ways that parenting has reshaped their sense of self, impacted their relationships, and shifted their priorities.

Outside of my therapy practice, I am a lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work.

I received degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Chicago.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State: License LW60907034.
